Book a Beautiful cottage and be in the greatest place in the New Year

This new year, why not do something completely different find a cottage, round up a few friends, arrange your travel and look forward to a wonderful new year celebration at a special location.

If you're organised and buy train tickets in advance you may even save yourself some money.

Consider it or not, New Year or not New Year, it's still likely to take advantage of cheap train fares if you book early.

So what can you do this year to bring in the New Year in a way you never have before?

A vastly popular way of seeing off the old and bringing in the new is to hire a gorgeous cottage with friend and family and there are ample of places offering a broad range of accommodation where you can eat, drink and be cheerful by the log fire.

From Norfolk to Bath and beyond, there are cottages all over the South of England. Make sure you select somewhere that you really escape from all the hustle and bustle, but yet have easy access by road and rail.

If that's a little too dignified for your New Year prospect, consider something similar but in a city town house that'll bring you to the heart of the festivities. You can rent town houses in London, for example, which sleep up to 12 people, for around £3,000.

Equating to just around £250 per person. Not terrible when you think about the cost some London hotels charge, mainly at New Year.

The Jurassic Coast is also host to a variety of cottages, if a trip to England's most eye-catching beaches is where you would like to be for New Year, or to experience an altogether alternative New Year, then why not pop your head beneath the surf in Newquay on New Years day.

If you're lucky you may even be able to obtain an invite to one of Cornwall's infamous beach parties by one of the locals, which are renowned for being fun and friendly.

There is no shortage of rental cottages around Newquay but make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

This New Year, take yourself off to a place you've never been before and start the year as you mean to go on with a bit of exploration and adventure.
