How would you describe your last vacation? Did you have fun? Were you entertained? Was there some leisure too or did your last vacation consist of shuttling your family around, doing yard work and other chores? Was your last "vacation" more of a "staycation"? Why not go for something out of the ordinary this year? When you have a little bit of time off, why not try out one of the many adventure travels available in your hometown. Most likely, there are many adventures to be had in your home state. If you are just dying to spend your money, why not pamper yourself with a true adventure? These are some adventure travels that are quite favorable.

If you like being in the great outdoors and attempting to survival skills by living off the land, why not go on an Australian Walkabout? These have become trendy especially after one of the main actors on the TV show Lost made an attempt to go on one. The thought for an Australian Walkabout is that you and your adventure pals go out into the Australian Outback with a guide. When you go on a walkabout, you are living off the land in its entirety. You hunt and gather all your food, build your shelter from materials on the land and take on all the "elements" that may come your way (weather, animals, etc). It is similar to extreme camping and can give you a natural high.

Do you enjoy hunting, but have gotten tired of the available game in your home region? Why not go on a hunting travel expedition?

Most continents have a specialty tours and outfits that will explain how to hunt the game in their neck of the woods. Do you have a dream of hunting big (non-endangered) game in Africa? You can make it a reality. Do you desire to get out into the wild west of America and hunt their big game? You can do that also. The biggest choice you have on a hunting expedition is choosing what you want to hunt. Next it is as simple as figuring out logistics like: "how can I get my hunting equipment out there or will the outfit me with the necessities?"

Have you ever played with the idea of a deep-sea fishing trip? Most people don't associate fishing with adventure travels. At any rate, fishing becomes a completely new adventure when you are out in the middle of a giant blue ocean. Not only are you usually fighting with larger fish, but you are also fighting the elements. Possibilities are endless when you're out at sea. Before you make a decision on your landing spot, you need to figure out what kind of fish you want to catch from the deep sea. On the other hand, if you desire, you can also determine the area according to the climate and "home base" scenery. One hallowed destination for deep-sea fishing is Hawaii.

Adventure travels don't have to cost a lot (though they can sometimes be expensive). You don't have to take a long vacation. Some only last a single day! Why would you choose to let yourself sit around feeling bored when you could choose to spend your vacation having fun and adventures? Because there are so many different kinds of adventure travels and vacations to take your hardest choice is going to be deciding what you want to do the most and where you want to do it! Have fun!
